Rochester Christmas Bird Count Registration

Instructions

1. Keep track of your mileage and hours and record the information below.
 
2. Do not count Canada Geese in your section. We use the DNR count.
Do count all other geese and ducks, including Cackling Geese and Mallards
 
3. Fill out the MOURC Request for Documentation form for species marked with (*)
 
4. All participants are invited to meet at Quarry Hill Nature Center from 12 to 1 pm for lunch. 
The morning results will be informally reviewed and some members will re-team to search
for specific species not yet sighted.  Bring your own lunch.
 
5. Section leaders or a representative please meet at Quarry Hill Nature Center at 4:45 pm for
compiling and discussing results of the day.
 
6. If you have anyone counting at a feeder for you please take care of getting the results to
Clifford Hansen by mailing the results to:

  A party is a group of observers who are traveling together.
Party hours & miles are determined regardless of the number of observers in the party.
 
  Example:
 

   one party from 7:30am to 12:00pm = 4.5 party hours
     one party from 7:30am to 1:30pm = 6.0 party hours
     one party from 1:00pm to 4:30pm = 3.5 party hours
           Total = 14.0 total party hours (for the activity)
